Maybe is one of the most powerful words in our vocabulary. It carries within it the weight of everything that could have been. Maybe if we had taken that decision. Maybe if we had listened to that person. Maybe if we had stayed, or maybe if we had left. We often look back at our lives and wonder how different things might have been if we had chosen another path.
But the past does not need our permission to remain the past. We judge our past with the clarity of hindsight, without remembering that we made those choices with the consciousness we possessed at the time. We did what we thought was right. And maybe, even the wrong turns were taking us somewhere we needed to go.
Maybe what we are going through today is exactly what is best for us, even if it doesn’t feel that way. We judge moments by how they make us feel today. But life has a way of revealing its meaning much later. What looks like a setback can become a turning point. What feels like an ending can quietly become a beginning. Life shapes us, not the way we want to be, but the way we need to be shaped.
Maybe we simply cannot see the whole picture yet. There may be something waiting for us around a corner we haven’t reached. A person we haven’t met. An opportunity we haven’t imagined. A moment that may change the direction of our lives completely.
The difficult part is that we want certainty before we are willing to have faith. But life rarely works that way. Sometimes, all we can do is keep moving, keep believing, and trust that the story is still being written. Maybe the best chapters of our lives are not behind us. Maybe they are the ones we haven’t lived yet.
And maybe, just when we think life has given us all it has to offer, it is preparing to give us everything we never knew we were waiting for. Maybe we just need to have more courage and trust life a little more.
