We often consider work and home as two separate buckets of our lives, struggling to achieve goals in both places and wondering what the right balance is. Sometimes we want to chase success but are unsure about the compromises at home, and often we want to be there for the family but find it difficult to reconcile the trade-offs at work. Reflecting on and better understanding this interplay will help us live a holistic life with joy and contentment.
The fundamental fact is that we cannot be unhappy at home and give our best at work, nor can we be stressed at work and create harmony at home. Our challenge stems from viewing them as separate buckets. Like a rainbow, the colours appear different but stem from a single source; we too need to anchor ourselves and live with love, joy, and purpose, no matter whether at work or at home. Integrating ourselves removes the competition between work and home.
We say family is most important and yet, we misalign our time and attention, fearing we may lose out on becoming successful. The fact is that at different times, the pull from work and home will be different. When we learn to prioritise correctly based on our inner guidance system, not only will we be at ease with ourselves, we will surprise ourselves with progress we never thought we could make. Our challenge is not just the balance, it is wasting precious time we could well redirect.
Split personalities are not just psychological issues; it is living as one person at home and another for the outside world. The silent stress this builds internally robs us of our true potentiality, and the anger often gets directed to those close to us. It once again comes down to being integrated and authentic, no matter where we are. Authenticity and being true to ourselves allows the easy fluidity between work and home.
We love our families and we love our work. But let there be no competition between the two; rather, let them complement and support each other. Living as an instrument, allowing the higher to play through us, when we create the music of joy no matter where we are, and we give our best no matter how big or small the task, we will not only live in a mood of joyous forgetfulness, we will discover that life is not to be lived in compartments, and that work and home are two sides of the same coin.

Lovely , very well put . Makes us realise that prioritising our time is the best thing we can do for ourselves.
