Doubt Can Be Our Biggest Obstacle

We face several external obstacles beyond our control. We may not realise it, but there are also many obstacles we create for ourselves internally. These mental obstacles not only block the flow of our dynamism, but they also blur our vision as we start viewing the world coloured by our conditioning. Doubt can be one of our biggest obstacles.

Doubt is lack of belief. Sometimes we don’t maximise our potential, not because we are not capable, but we don’t believe enough in ourselves. We often complain that life does not give us opportunities, but when the opportunity does arise, we hold back because we doubt our own abilities. Believing that we are capable of much more than we realise dispels doubt.

Bad experiences sometimes scar us for life. If we are not careful, the emotional baggage can make us wary of the future. It is true that we don’t always have the full picture going forward, but doubting life at every step can severely compromise our growth and happiness. When we develop faith that if we are faced with a situation, we are capable of handling it, we dispel our doubt.

Not all relationships play out the way we want, but if we are not careful, some relationships can leave us cynical and jaded. But a few bad experiences should not stop us from believing in the goodness of people and should not stop us from being trusting. When we overcome our fears and start building and enjoying trusting relationships, we remove the overhang of doubt we may be living with.

The future is unknown to us, and the twists and turns of life will test us at every stage. And each test in life can well become a turning point if we believe that things will turn in our favour when we apply ourselves with faith and diligence, believe in the goodness of people, believe in ourselves, and most importantly don’t doubt the strong intuition within.

Our best is waiting to reveal itself, there is no doubt about that.

  1. Most failures are potentials never realised. Confidence in oneself is a much needed quality, but often mistaken for self-righteous arrogance. Blind, thoughtless belief is also dangerous, though. As tge saying goes,
“fools rush in where angels fear to tread”. We all have the power of discretion and a deep innermost sense of inspiration which can deal with your doubts and fears and lead you to your ‘calling g’ and destiny.
