There are things we go through in life that only we are aware of. Even as people around us are always there for us, there are some things they may not be able to see and experience the way we do. We often hear those who care for us telling us that they understand what we are going through. The fact is that nobody can truly understand what we are going through.
Even people closest to us look at the situation from their paradigm, and the way they are. Not everything we are experiencing needs an explanation or a solution. Often, it is accepting us the way we are and supporting us as we work through our situations.
Our fears and anxieties are ours. There are things that really bother us that someone else may find unnecessary and even irrational. Sometimes nobody can understand our worries and attachments.
Our way of doing things is not necessarily out of ego, it is just the way we prefer doing things. There may well be a logical way of doing something in a better way, or a way better suited for someone else. Sometimes nobody can understand our need to do things the way we like.
Our willingness to give in to things does not mean we don’t have an opinion. Over a period of time, it gets assumed that we will be okay with things just because mostly we have decided to avoid unnecessary friction. Sometimes nobody can understand that as much as we are loving and willing to give in to things, we start getting the feeling of being taken for granted.
Our contribution to a relationship may be as important, but may not measure up to a tangible measure all the time. Sometimes nobody can understand that there needs to be equality in a relationship, even though all things cannot be measured equally.
Our thoughts may come from our solid common sense, even though we may not be seen as overly proficient in something. Just because we may not be managing something or be in charge, does not mean we don’t have a contribution to make. Sometimes nobody can understand our need to be heard, respected, and valued for our suggestions.
Our success may come from things the world may not even recognise as success. Sometimes nobody can understand our silent role in someone else’s apparent success.
Even as we build relationships and walk alongside others, giving and receiving love and joy, there is a journey we walk alone. It is a journey of finding peace and security within, because even as others provide for us and are there for us, sometimes nobody can truly understand what we are going through.

Love you for voicing this!
This is just too good. Absolutely what’s in my mind too.
I agree!
Sooner we get over the hankering to be ‘understood’, happier would we be!
