Festival Of Lights

Nov 5, 2021 | Love, relationship | 1 comment

Festivals are happy and bright occasions, accompanied by a feeling of abundance, generosity, and warmth. Lights are symbolic of joy and festivity, spreading cheer and happiness.

In as much as festivals are special occasions, they also come as a reminder that lighting up someone’s life need not be restricted only to special days in a year. Festivals come not just as an opportunity to just celebrate, but also to rededicate ourselves to bring cheer and light to the lives of others.

When we know someone is troubled, and we take the trouble to reach out and share their concern, offering our help, we lighten up their life.

When we see someone struggling and the going is getting tougher, our willingness to help them carry their burden, even at the cost of sometimes making sacrifices ourselves, lightens up their life.

When we do things for people, especially when they don’t expect it, they realise we have them in our thoughts and care for them. The feeling of being cared for lightens up their life.

When we go beyond our responsibilities and do something special for someone close to us, we lighten up their life by giving them a message that even though there may not be a problem and all may be well, we don’t take them for granted and that the closest relations are special for us.

When we sense someone going through a low phase or a sense of loneliness, and we take out time to be with them, even though we may not be able to solve their problems, we lighten up their life by being there for them when they needed someone to accompany them and just be there for them and with them.

When we give our best and create something beautiful, we lighten up people’s life by igniting the spark of inspiration in them.

When we don’t hold back and find it in ourselves to let someone know how much we love them in our own way, we lighten up their life by also evoking the love in them.

It takes one lamp to light a thousand lamps. When we commit to not only giving ourselves a good quality of life but also consciously being there for others and lightening up their life in whatever small or big way we can, we would have truly understood the significance of our festivals. And our life itself becomes a festival of lights.
