Friends are such an integral part of our lives. The bond with them is always special for the simple fact that true friendship is built on love and trust. Their joy is our joy and we feel their pain as our own. We feel extremely close to them and yet when they are in their own space it doesn’t bother us. There are small things in a friendship that make a big difference.
A conversation with a true friend lightens our mood. A causal conversation or a light hearted banter is enough to lift our spirit. When they call just to chat, we know they care.
A true friend really knows us. It is truly a liberating feeling to be able to be ourselves. In companionship, there is no competition and comparison.
Their honesty comes from their love. They correct us, not because they are judgemental, but because they care. They show us a part of ourselves we are blind to and often they save us from ourselves.
They are always there for us, not because they have to but because they want to. And with them there is a joy in being taken for granted, in a good way, where they know they can call on us and have a right to do so.
The ability to pick up from where we left as if it was just yesterday, is a bond of true connection. With them, time and distance disappear – it doesn’t matter how far they may be, how long we may not have seen them, and for how long we may not have spoken. In a sense, they are never far from us.
And most times they don’t need to say things, we just know.
When the value in our life is not counted by the zeros we add to a number but by counting the friends we have who fill us with love and joy, we have understood the value of true friendship.
Truly truly value your friendship buddy… lovely piece
So true. Very well thought out and articulated.
