If we look around us, we will realise there is much that needs to be done and much we can do. When asked to do something, most times we are happy to play our part. But our real value lies in being sensitive enough to realise that we don’t need to be asked.
When we see someone going through hardship and we can give some form of support, we need to immediately act on it without waiting to be asked.
When others around us are doing their bit and we realise we can accelerate their impact with our small contribution, we don’t need to wait to be asked.
When we know about the emotional turmoil in someone’s life, we need to give the much needed support and fellowship without waiting to be asked.
When we can see someone struggling with moving ahead and stuck in their way of doing things, we need to help with our perspective and experience. A guiding thought that can help change someone’s life need not wait to be shared.
When our life is full, but we realise that someone is lonely, we don’t need to wait to fill their life with some care and attention.
When we see a hidden tear in someone’s eyes or deep pain behind their smile, we don’t need to wait to give them our love and affection to help lift their spirit and deal with their challenges.
We may not realise it, but we have much to offer. Our beauty does not lie in just stepping up when we are called upon to do something. Our true beauty comes from our sensitivity and care, that when we realised that we can help ease someone’s pain, share their burden, put a smile on someone’s face, and fill their life with little joy, we didn’t wait to be asked.
