We all aspire for a comfortable and trouble-free life. There are periods when we do achieve this and feel good. If we look back, the moments we have most enjoyed in life were not when there were no problems. It was the time when we had a spring in our step.
Times when we woke up with enthusiasm, looking forward to the day and felt the energy flowing through us, willing and able to face uncertainties and challenges.
So what brings a spring in our step?
It’s not the absence of problems but the presence of opportunities. The chance life gives us to do something meaningful and make a difference.
It’s not the comfort but the experiences we start enjoying. Looking forward to every new learning and relationship with the eagerness of one whose appetite for life is never satiated.
It’s not the profits but the creativity and brilliance that we display. Being inspired by our own work, not waiting for appreciation from others.
It’s not our own pace but the aligning to the pace life sets for us, discovering strength and ability we never knew existed.
It’s not our popularity and fame, but the joy and cheer we bring to others.
It’s not how much we have achieved, but how much more there is yet to be done for which we feel enthused and blessed at having been given the opportunity.
And when we discover something that inspires us, dedicate ourselves to doing what we enjoy, and more importantly finding the freedom to do it the way we want, we will experience a shine in our eyes, a smile on our face, a song in our heart and a spring in our step.
