Life always seems like a mixed bag; there are things that seem to be going well and things that are on our minds. As the date changes, we often reflect on the year gone by and the things we did and how events played out for us. As we take stock of our lives, it is very important to reflect on an important and often forgotten aspect – how often did we celebrate ?
Leaving celebrations to just birthdays, anniversaries and big events is not sufficient. When we make a habit of taking stock of our life, not every year, but every week, and start asking ourselves – ‘what is worth celebrating this week’, we will recognise that there is much to celebrate that often escapes our conscious awareness.
Small successes over time start making a big difference. The power of consistently achieving small goals is well known to us when we stick to our exercise routine or stay firm on not compromising our diet. Small savings over years has often been very handy in difficult situations. When we stick to our plan and are consistent, we must celebrate our discipline.
Finding happiness in the happiness of others is pure love. It dissolves even a hint or trace of jealousy and comparison. When we find the expansiveness to be truly happy when people close to us achieve things, we must celebrate their milestones.
Often life smiles at us and we find ourselves in a happy space. The gratitude we feel must also extend to include others in our well-being and prosperity. When we find ourselves filled with joy, we must get together and celebrate the blessings in our life.
There is much happening out there in the world that concerns us, much that needs to change. No matter how difficult the situation, it is our hope and spirit that always sees us through. And we can start building a fountain of hope by creating an oasis of celebrations in our life.
Wishing you a wonderful 2023 !
