The Co-Travellers In Our Life

Apr 10, 2022 | awareness, relationship | 1 comment

There are times we feel lonely, but on reflection, we will realise that we are never alone. Even though we sometimes feel we are traversing the journey of life by ourselves, there are always co-travellers with us. When we recognise them in our lives, not only does it ease going through experiences, life becomes enriching and meaningful through all the ups and downs.

When we are going through a difficult emotional situation, we will discover someone in our life with whom we can share our challenges. They travel with us through our emotional upheavals, giving us valuable support, advice, and perspective.

When we are ready to move to the next phase, we realise that there are many in our life from whom we can learn to help us make the transition. We make them part of our journey, learning much from them as they help us navigate through our opportunities and risks.

There are times we are following our own intuition which not everyone can clearly see or understand. Self-doubt, uncertainty, and anxiety can easily get the better of us. During this period, we experience the companionship and fellowship of someone who understands and encourages us, without judging us.

The train of our life stops at different stations, allowing different co-travellers to accompany us through the next phase of our journey. Some of them may be with us for a short time, and some could well be part of our lives for the longest time. And we soon discover that not only are they accompanying us, we too are accompanying them through their situations, successes and setbacks. Often the journey of togetherness allows both to go through what neither could have managed alone.

And yet, in spite of many in our lives if we feel we are all alone in our compartment, on reflection we may find that we are the ones who may have closed the doors and are not allowing others in. When we let go of our fears and open our lives to include those who care deeply and want to be there for us, we will realise the simple and beautiful fact of life – we are never alone, there is always someone willing to be our co-traveller.
