Some thoughts in our life have remained as thoughts. Even though we felt they were worthy of our action, somehow we never really got down to acting on them and making them our reality. If we sit back and reflect on what stopped us, it may unravel some very interesting aspects of ourselves we may not be fully aware of.
Sometimes we may have had a good idea, but not the clarity as to how we should go about doing things. When we don’t allow ourselves the time and space for gaining clarity, and we quickly move on to the next thought, we lose the opportunity.
A thought is only as good as the commitment that backs it. If the initial enthusiasm of an inspiring thought is not backed with the will and determination to work on it, the thought will remain as a thought.
Sometimes it may well be that the time was not conducive. When just need to be mindful that in waiting for the right time, we don’t lose our conviction. Timing and conviction are both critical, but when the opportunity presents itself if our conviction is weak, the thought remains a thought.
But the biggest inner hurdle is our self-doubt. Even when we may have been enthused with a thought, had a sense of clarity, knew it was something we should do, and yet we failed to act, it may well have been the lurking self-doubt. When we see someone else do the very things we had thought of, it touches a chord and we silently wish we had acted when we should have.
And when we know we should be doing something, and yet find ourselves getting held back, it is only in our quiet time will we find the clarity, conviction, determination, and commitment to dedicate ourselves. And once we decide to move ahead, and dispel the self-doubt with faith and dynamic self-application, our thoughts will not just remain thoughts, they will become a reality.
