Different things drive different people. It could be power, the creation of wealth, working on human and social causes, or the pursuit of skill and talent. Each one of us is temperamentally different and may approach life in our own way. There is no judgement to be made whether one purpose is better than another. The only thing that is critical, is understanding the role of a driving force in our life.
Often we feel that living with constant enthusiasm, positivity, and energy is not easy. We sometimes wonder how some people can continuously carry on in spite of the challenges and uncertainties they also face. We can only sustain our dynamic efforts if we have a driving force from within.
Our driving force is like the pole star. It keeps us on track and we keep referring to it to guide us. It gives us direction and purpose in everything that we do. It is the force that lifts our enthusiasm when the burden of concern and responsibilities weighs us down.
Every success has a story of a journey behind it. The world applauds and appreciates the outcome. But it is the ability to stay on the journey, overcome our limitations, and keep moving ahead in spite of every resistance that makes us successful. Our driving force is the silent fuel that keeps us on our journey even when we are alone.
A wick in oil will give no light unless it is ignited. We too have a reservoir of creativity and innovation which is beyond our current thinking. And this power will not unleash itself unless we have a strong reason. Our driving force ignites the power within and unleashes our potential.
We often worry that we may never achieve the very thing that drives us. It doesn’t matter. Our growth lies in our efforts, not in our achievement. In fact, the moment we achieve, we stop growing, unless we have already inspired ourselves with the next cause worth living for.
Sometimes we feel don’t have something that drives us or are not clear as to what it should be, given the options we have in life. When we feel we are drifting in life, not necessarily unhappy but not overly excited either, we don’t need to wait for things to change. Our car of life will move forward joyfully if we reflect in silence and discover our driving force.

Wise words. ‘Driving force’! This is the ❤of life! Yes, something drives all of us. The big question is, ‘what should be my driving force as a human being beyond my immediate concerns’. True, I need to reflect in silence to find my special ‘role’ in that common ‘North star’ for us humans.
What is that North Star, which is spoken of from time immemorial?
It’s the petrol of our life that propels us forward !
