It is not always easy to do the right thing. In life, we find ourselves with choices to make and often, though not always, it comes down to taking the easy path or doing the right thing. Being aware of this difference and conscious of the way we are making decisions, determines our quality of life.
It is easy to give in to laziness and break a daily discipline we had decided for ourselves. The right way would be to overcome the sway of the mind and strengthen our determination.
It is easy to get momentarily carried away with temptation. The right way would be to live with awareness and deepen our steadfastness and resolve.
It is easy to give excuses and get away from fulfilling our obligations and commitments. The right way would be to find compassion and love, realising that it is not about what we want, but the joy our presence may bring to others.
It is easy to cut corners, twist the system and accelerate growth. The right way would be to build principle-centred organisations.
It is easy to move on in life and forget to keep up with those who have helped us on the way. The right way is to live with gratitude and humility, realising that all alone we could not have achieved what we have.
It is easy to raise our standard of living in good times. The right way is to be balanced and measured in our choices so that we don’t find ourselves under pressure when the tide turns.
It is easy to get offended and live with our sense of justified anger and hurt. The right way would be to find the courage and sensitivity to heal the hurts that exist.
It is easy to subtly discriminate and block out people we are uncomfortable with. The right way would be to seek to understand them and move out of our comfort zone, becoming more inclusive.
It is easy to dominate when we have the advantage. The right way would be to be fair and equitable, always finding a win-win outcome.
Our choice of taking the easy or right path boils down to what we truly want from life and the way we want to live our life. It is about making our life meaningful in the way we understand it. It is easy to get judgemental about choices others make, the right way is to first look in the mirror before we look out of the window.
And when we are firm in our resolve, we discover inner clarity, courage, and confidence which makes it easy to walk the right path.

Great to see the school library . I assume this is a more recent picture since it looks more colourful and contemporary than my memory of it from the 80s
Your posts are a source of encouragement for your readers, as much as their feedback reciprocates that to you
I cannot believe it is already no 200. I thought it may be no 50. I so much enjoy the reading every day. Thank you.
A fantastic milestone Vivek. One of the ‘discoveries’ of disrupted life on the planet is that we need to think, ponder and meditate for a healthy mind, heart and soul. Who’d have guessed!
In the face of challenge the philosophical/thoughtful approach, when possible, will always harvest the richest crop. Thank you for all the seeds you have provided for us to tend and nurture; we are well nourished!
