Slowly and Silently

The thought that came to me was – Proceed Slowly and Silently.

The mind being true to itself is going through its various emotions – extreme clarity and confidence at one point, to the creeping of anxiety and concern at another. The thought of what could one have done differently in the past is only natural to cross our mind. The past cannot be undone. But let our future not be our undoing because we still carry some regrets and anxiety.

One has to Slow down the inner turmoil of the mind. No matter what external resources are available, an agitated mind will compromise and rob us of our ability to face up to the opportunities and challenges in life. We have to be mindful of three things – quality, quantity and direction of our thoughts. Managing our thought flow is managing life.

Nothing helps tame the mind as sitting in Silence. The power of silence and quiet time, not only settles an agitated mind but more importantly allows the Guidance of our higher inspirational inner voice show the way forward. We depend too much on our intellectual ability. We must trust the silent still voice within as well.

We may not have all the answers. The outer challenges will tempt us to rush into things under the misguided belief that frenzied activity will see us through the complexities in our life. But we need to be aware of the simple principle – one step at a time. Just like a flywheel starts very slowly, gains momentum and then the very momentum keeps it in motion. Similarly we need to get into our stride, build our momentum that will energise us to keep us going.

And keep reminding ourselves to proceed Slowly and Silently.

    • Nice one Vivek ….. nothing beats slow and steady …. as you have rightly pointed out it is so important to connect with our inner voice to set our pace it is so important than to mimic someone else’s speed in action.
Each one of us is unique ….. and so connecting with the inner self alone can set the right momentum for a person.
It is lovely to be able to build life one step at a time and have time to enjoy the journey ! Lovely to start the day with your reflections !

    • The situation will change but the tumultuousness within may still continue if we aren’t careful. Something else will trigger the turmoil. We need to remind ourselves everyday…..

    • The mind is a flow of thoughts. Desires lead to thoughts leads to action. Our actions are nothing but manifestation of our thoughts. So whether we live in our inner world of thoughts or the outer world of action, its the mind where it originates.
And it’s in the mind we experience the various emotions, thus making the mind the architect of our lives.
But if we transcend the mind, then it is but a toothbrush at the disposal of the Higher….
