Cause Effect

For every Effect there is a Cause. Understanding this powerful principle can alter the way we lead our lives. The Cause may be apparent or sometimes manifest after a length of time, giving us the feeling of luck or misfortune. But everything has a reason.

It helps us develop focus and live in the now, giving full attention to the tasks at hand. But when we get closer to our goal, we tend to get anxious and shift our focus to the desired effect. How often has a batsman got out in the 90s. Not because he suddenly loses his touch. He shifts his attention to scoring the 100 that is so close. The anxiety of the result compromises his performance, which is why it’s called the Nervous 90s.

It builds acceptance. When nature unleashes Her fury and causes destruction, on deeper reflection we can see that the abuse caused to the environment will have disastrous effects. We start understanding, appreciating and accepting life.

It builds responsibility. It comes to our conscious awareness that everything we do, small or big, will have a consequence. We can fool others but we cannot fool life.

It makes us introspective and curious to understand causality in situations. This gives us the depth of perception to avoid mistakes and maximise opportunities.

It makes us self confident. The opinions of others is tempered with our own judgement, experiences and observations. We don’t get carried away with the popular view for the sake of its popularity. We know the effect of doing that.

It makes us humble. We start realising the that cause is not just our actions but circumstances beyond our control. And even those circumstances have come in our life for a reason. We accept the results with gratitude and responsibility.

This powerful principle works like a bank balance. Each thought and action of ours, can either add value to our life or reduce it. And when we are unhappy with the balance, we don’t blame the bank. With honesty, we reflect on the Cause.

  1. Nicely explained.
The Law of life is the Law of cause and effect. In Buddhism it is called Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. The entire universe is governed by this wonderful law. We are all entities of this wonderful law of life

    आवश्यकता आविष्कार की जननी है …. Necessity is the Mother of Invention….

And what better times than now to confirm this simple truth… when the whole world has United to find the cure for the pendamanic.

My personal need to be closer to my parents lead me to make a life changing decision of leaving Mumbai and moving to Dehradoon and now finally to NCR!

While Vivek your reference to nervous 90 is awesome, I relate to my circumstances which lead me to leave my settled job at Mumbai and venture for unknown territories….. and has the effect of making me more confident of myself to handle any adversity in life!! Today, I am rich with tough experiences and in much more peace with myself … a life example of cause leading to an effect! 🙏
