I am inspired by the most powerful force in nature, the Sun. Shining its light and warmth, serving everyone equally without distinction.
We may not realise it, but we too may be the centre of somebody’s universe, people who depend on us and for whom we may be a source of strength. Its not just ourselves, but the lives of many whom we make a difference to.
It is our light of knowledge, the warmth of compassion and the spirit of service that will make us effective.
Our intellectual knowledge will be incomplete without a deeper understanding of ourselves. Inner knowledge is important. The fire of knowledge within will radiate through our actions.
The world has a lot of financial and intellectual capital. What we need to build is the Capital of Compassion even as we scale heights of worldly success. To include those not as fortunate as us in our prosperity.
An attitude of being able and available to serve others makes living ever so meaningful. A life of service is a life well lived.
Let Knowledge, Compassion, Service be the centre of our Universe. No matter how dark the clouds, we can be bright and positive to everyone around us. Like the Sun.
True. Every civilization has revered the sun.
Coronavirus, Karuna (compassion) and Seva (Service). All three come to mind when one reads the news ‘Muslims help perform last rites of Hindu man’ (interfaithgoodnews@gmail.com) dated 21 May 2020.
Dr. Anand
God says ‘ Each one has a purpose to accomplish in life including animals , insects, birds…. even inanimate things. Thus each object and every living being serves as a SUN to each one of us. Let us be more conscious of this fact and always be grateful.
