Endurance

Endurance is our inner strength and stamina which enables us go through our challenges and opportunities without giving up or breaking down. Calm endurance in pain and pleasure is the measure of our inner balance and equanimity .

Endurance is built with the correct assessment of our reality. It prepares us for the long haul. The mismatch between reality and our unrealistic expectations weakens us.

Acceptance builds endurance. That doesn’t mean we don’t keep striving for change. We stop fighting life and start applying ourselves in the best possible way under the circumstances.

Having at least one hobby or side activity completely unrelated to our situation but something we really enjoy is a must. Exercising, music, playing a game, watching movies – whatever helps take our mind off in an enjoyable way. Like muscles, even the mind needs re-creation.

Positive people in our life builds endurance. Not that they solve issues for us or bail us out, their sheer spirit is infectious and ignites us as well.

Knowledge builds endurance. Knowing that nothing lasts forever. Good times don’t, tough times will not. The cyclical nature of life keeps our optimism alive even as we are very aware of our reality.

But notwithstanding all our efforts, we cannot build true endurance without spiritual stamina. Burnouts, nervous breakdowns, freezing in a situation, going blank when we needed to give our best is not because we’re lacking in our physical and intellectual strength. It’s just that we haven’t developed our inner strength sufficiently.

When we embrace life, give gratitude for what’s in place, sit in silence for ten minutes every day drawing strength from within, there’s absolutely nothing we can’t endure.

So valid in today’s scenario! So many of us may have reached near breaking point out of stress and anxiety.
You rightly said… We all need our stress busters and inner strength to overcome these challenges and endure….but positively and look for the silver lining that is bound to emerge!
