College days were simple, carefree and filled with experiences. Memories trigger of a smile of those days.

That first cup of tea with someone. Or that cup of tea that never happened and we still remember that.

Making and meeting friends, some who are part of our life and others we’ve lost touch with but reconnect in an instant when we meet.

Working on activities through all the fun, fights, late nights, tears and laughter. Idealistic debates and managing in a tight budget.

There was a simplicity through all of that. It’s not that all these things made life simple. It’s just that we approached life with simplicity and joy. Taking on higher responsibility doesn’t mean we need to complicate life and abandon the virtue of keeping things simple. 

Simplicity is our ability to focus on the essence, removing all unnecessary considerations of ego and posturing, building strong relationships in an environment of love and joy, with a readiness to serve.

Being simple is not being innocent or naive. On the contrary. There’s power in simplicity. My English teacher is school would always remind us – “The beauty of the Bible lies in it’s Simplicity”.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Through all the complexities the world presents us, we need to take straight and simple approaches. Removing the clutter within, straightens our mind. 

Life need not be complicated if we take a joyful and simple approach. That’s the simple truth.
